We are happy to announce our new 2 day seminar called Chasing Light!

Travis and I are so happy to be able to do a seminar again. We have both taught separately and together at After Dark and on the Sandy Puc tour. It was on tour where Travis and I realized that although we come from different backgrounds, different styles, we both go about Chasing Light the same way! It's been years since we have taught together, so don't miss out on this.

This is a hands on seminar!!

Let’s chase some light together. Spend some time with Travis walking through a more complicated 3-4 light studio portrait set up and then talk about fast and effective ways to get the job done on location. We will be playing with super easy and totally manual Off Camera Strobe, Reflectors, Small and inexpensive flashlights and maybe even a little ring light work. In today’s world as a photographer, the shooter with the widest array of tools in the toolbox stands a better chance of getting noticed and booking sessions. While everyone is a natural light shooter, if you can master the ability to manipulate light in any situation, you can guarantee your paying clients spectacular results in even the trickiest of lighting situations.

Kevin will be taking you through each type of lighting modifier and what they will do for you. With his commercial and fashion background, Kevin will show you simple and easy ways to get the cool fashion look that everyone craves, with both studio strobes, daylight, speed lights, and constant lighting. Kevin will even show you how to light with standard shop lights from the hardware store!

About Kevin

Kevin's career has taken an interesting path over his 30 years. Starting out in fashion and beauty, traveling and ending up in NYC. Kevin also ran a very successful portrait and wedding studio, using the same skill set honed throughout his career. Known for his skill with lighting and use of graphics and clean images, he has now moved into commercial sportswear in his hometown of Portland. Working for high end clients like Nike and Nordstrom, he knows what it takes to get the job done efficiently and well, with very little post production.

This two day seminar will take you through simple to complicated lighting set ups. Travis and I are both sort of wizards and technicians with lighting, but come at it from a realistic perspective.

We both start out with one main light and add light from there in a very logical process. We both also love to try out just about anything to light with. Flashlights, shop lights, iPhones, you name it and we will try it. You don't need to spend a bunch of money to be able to light something that is truly amazing.
